The Count Postulates:
Rene Descartes was, without doubt, one of the greatest minds of the past five hundred years of human history. The founder of modern philosophy AND analytic geometry, he reduced a bunch of ideas that had grown WAY overcomplicated to their bare essentials, clearing the ground upon which later generations pretty much built our swanky World Of Today.
That being said, his ontological proof of God's existence is pretty much crap, and I'd like to believe he didn't really put his heart into it. In fact, I'm going to go ahead and believe that, in spite of all evidence to the contrary, because it makes my internal hierarchy of Fine Fellows ever so much easier to organize.
There, done and done.
